For the last few years, Westminster Theological Centre has pioneered a particular form and model of theological training, offering theological education that integrates the best of scholarship with the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit. We have seen over the years that this combination is powerful to transform, heal and release God’s people into His purposes for them. WTC courses are delivered in partnership with local churches throughout the UK and Channel Islands so that students have the opportunity to grow in discipleship and mission, whilst studying for a nationally recognized certificate or degree in theology.
Our student body is drawn from all walks of life, stretching across generations, denominations and backgrounds, so wherever you come from, you can feel at home at WTC. We recognize the unique and precious gifting of all humanity, men and women, and we work with students in every aspect of WTC - the study, the worship, the prayer, and the theological reflections - to encourage them to become all that they can be in Christ.
Because we are committed both to the local and to the national, we have made it easier for people to stay in their locality, while still having access to excellent theological education and training. The benefit for students is enormous, combining teaching from our international faculty with the support of a local learning community.
WTC raises up and equips servant leaders, whether in the home, the church or the marketplace. There will be a course that is ideally suited for you, whether you wish to strengthen your biblical and theological foundations at certificate level, or whether you want the chance to go deeper into theology and to undertake your own personal research at Masters level.
Vision
WTC's vision is:
Theological education integrating the best of scholarship with the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit to transform, heal and release God’s people into His purposes for them.
Mission
In order to see this vision realised, WTC has a mission:
To deliver transformational theological education within prophetic, worshipping and learning communities throughout the UK and Channel Islands, in partnership with local churches.
Values
We are committed to the following values that inspire us in all our teaching, all our learning and all our dealings with one another.
A Liberating Orthodoxy
Working out our theology within an orthodox Trinitarian and Christ-centred faith, while combining world-class scholarship with diversity and a freedom of theological expression that transcends denominational lines.
Servants and Leaders in Community
Leadership, whether in the home, church or marketplace, that is rooted in servanthood and a Christ-like character, shaped to serve God’s purposes.
Participation in God’s Mission
Working for the transformation of society by participating in the call to proclaim the forgiveness and wholeness of the Kingdom of God in the UK and abroad, through social, economic and political justice.
Humanity as the Image of God
Holding a high view of humanity as made in the image of God, both male and female, we celebrate the beauty, uniqueness, interdependence, freedom and creativity of people that we might become all that God has created us to be.
Life Lived in Christ and the Spirit
Following Jesus Christ in the power of the Spirit, in both life and learning, to be transformed and equipped for discipleship and mission.
